Step 2: Tool Basics

What do I need to complete the Tool Basics?

When you are building your Smart Tool, the first thing you need to do after selecting the Model is pick your tool type, give the tool a name and give it a tracking number.

Tool Types:

Travel To Anywhere

This tool is exactly what it says.  It allows selection of the destination at the time of travel.  Travel to anywhere, for any reason at any time.  This tool is most often used by our clients for fund raising for their favorite charity, as they can share it with anyone in their network for their use.

Venue Centric

Our venue centric tool is for travel to a specific place, at any time.  This is perfect as a VISIT US tool on your CONTACT US page.

Event Centric

This tool is only available to GOLD and PLATINUM level clients.  It is for a specific place at a specific time, for a specific event.

Tool Name

This tool name appears on the Tool List, but not anywhere on the tool itself.  It should be clear to you what the tool will be used for, or perhaps where it will be used.

Tracking Number

When we provide details on bookings that have taken place using your various tools, this field is what you will see on those reports.  It is important to look at what you are going to want to track.  If you want to track by the individual traveler name, then build one tool for each of your team, your family or your friends.  If you want to track by marketing campaign, such as promoting your tool on Facebook, then put FB in your tracking number.

Our Dynamic Tool is the best if you are wanting to pass information to us as a part of where the tool is displayed.  This is available for PLATINUM clients.  Your Account Director can help you with that type of tool.

Venue Destination

When you are building a venue tool, in addition to the tool type, tool name and tracking number, you will also be prompted for the fixed destination of the place you are building the tool for.  You may also indicate whether the traveler can change the destination or whether it is fixed.

Event Basics

If you are building an event tool (GOLD and PLATINUM only), you will be prompted for the Event name and the venue where the event is being held.  Similar to the venue tool, you may indicate whether the destination can be changed by the user.  An example of this is if people are attending an event, but wish to stay near a relative, or their favorite health club so they may work out.

Features

Social Sharing

This allows you to share a tool with your network on social media.  For a private event, you may just want to share it via a link in an email, which is an option.

Driving

This gives you both the ability to do driving directions from your starting point to your destination.  The destination is pre-filled on the Venue and Events tool.  It also provides driving time and the option to rent a car (whether you are flying to your destination or driving and picking up the car locally).

Flying

The system provides round trip, one way and multi-city air ticket purchases.

Concierge

The concierge tab is a basic function of the tool, offering the following sections, each of which can be "pinned" to the top or that can be cloned, edited or deleted.  If you do not want a Concierge Tab, you can turn this function off.  For more information about Concierge ideas, click HERE.
